Some words to fool around with (updated)

My first mind map led me to the theme of awkward social interaction (probably fueled by my time here in Design...). I started a second mind map using the prompt nature, and found a parallel between human social interaction and human/nature interactions, particularly drowning. These are the finalized words I'll be using for my typographic narrative:

Plunge
Fathomless
Panic
Gurgle
Struggle
Deprivation
Surface
Salvation
Breathe

original list:

deep
vast
panic
trapped
salvation
escape
alone
surface
swallow
infinite
breathe
blur
overwhelm
plunge
struggle
grave

Letter forms

So I was given the letter "a" to work with. I've always found drawing them tricky, but this went pretty well I think.  I didn't really think about it too much. I just started freehanding.

As a way to get a little more comfortable working in the department, I decided to take one letter through a more familiar printmaking process. I chose to turn the Clarendon form into a lithograph.

ehh. they're done. I feel pretty indifferent about these, but it was a good exercise.
